Face Off for Charity Weekend
February 11, 2010

~~~~
The twelfth annual Applebee’s Face Off for Charity fundraising event to benefit the Boys and Girls Home and Family Services is coming up on Thursday night, February 11th, 2010 at the Tyson Events Center.
The doors will open for the event at 5:30pm, attendees should enter through the Tyson Events Center Box Office entrance on the south side, lower level.  Dinner, catered by Applebee’s, will be served at 6:30pm and the auction will start at 7:30pm.  Auction items include sports memorabilia and other popular items including:
  • A pointing black Labrador retriever puppy.
  • An Indianapolis Colts, Jim Caldwell autographed football.
  • Nebraska Cornhusker Club Level Football Tickets.
  • Eric Staal, Jordan Staal and Marc Staal autographed team jerseys.
  • Green Bay Packers Club Level Football Tickets.
  • An autographed Musketeer jersey, signed by goaltender Jim Craig who backstopped Team USA to a Gold Medal in the 1980 Olympic Games.
  • Phil Mickelson autographed photo.
  • New York Rangers Tickets with two airline tickets.
  • Autographed Tony Romo Dallas Cowboy Navy Blue Thanksgiving Day Jersey.
  • Mosaic handmade Musketeer coffee table.
  • And more!
Previously held at Applebee’s restaurant on Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City, the event has been moved to the Tyson Events Center and will take place on the ice.  The dinner and auction will take place on special insulated flooring that will be put down over two thirds of the ice sheet.  Patrons will be able to step off of the insulated flooring onto the ice surface to participate in special “on ice” games.  An autograph session with the Musketeer players, as well as former NHL player and current NHL commentator Eddie Olczyk will be held as well.
Applebee’s continues as the premiere sponsor of the event, providing staffing for meal and beverage prep and services required.   Musketeer players will join the Applebee’s staff, serving patrons and guests throughout the evening.
The event continues on Friday and Saturday night, February 12th and 13th, with silent auctions occurring at each of the Musketeer home games scheduled for that weekend.  These auctions will again have sports memorabilia and numerous other items available for bidding.
Event T-shirts will also be available for purchase with all proceeds going into the Face Off for Charity event fund.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students.  They’re available through the Musketeer office by calling 712-252-2116.
