U.S Junior Select Team Wins Gold at World Junior A Challenge

Four Musketeer players and Head Coach Luke Strand won the gold medal at the World Junior A Challenge in Penticton, B.C. The U.S. Junior Select Team beat Canada East 6-4 in the championship game to to win the tournament. The U.S. Team, made up fully of USHL players, won the Junior A Challenge for the 3rd consecutive year. The U.S. squad was a perfect 4-0 at the tournament and outscored their opponents 22-7.
The Musketeers played a huge part in the U.S. squad coming away with gold as Sioux City was one of only three USHL teams to send four or more players to Penticton. In addition, Musketeers Head Coach and General Manager Luke Strand was an assistant coach on P.K. O'Handley's staff.
Caleb Herbert, Jordan Schmaltz, Max Gaede, and Max McCormick were the players who represented Sioux City and the quartet combined for 4 goals, 5 assists, and 9 points.
