Chicago ties series at 1 -1

The Sioux City Musketeers came into Saturday's game looking for their third straight win and coming within one game of winning the Clark Cup but Chicago bounced back from an overtime loss the night before with a 5-1 victory at the Tyson Event Center.

The Steel scored three times in the first period to set the tone. Johnny Walker found the back of the net with 8:57 remaining in the opening period before Brannon McManus gave Chicago a 2-0 lead 46 seconds later. McManus would score his second goal of the game with less than four minutes remaining in the period.

After a scoreless second period, Jake Jaremko put Chicago up 4-0 with 12:13 left to play in the third before Eduards Tralmaks scored a goal of his own less the six minutes later. Aapeli Rasanen put Sioux City on the board via a power play goal with 4:46 left to play.

The Musketeers outshot Chicago 39-27 for the game. Winning goaltender Ales Stezka made 38 saves after sitting out Game 1 of the series on Friday. Matiss Kivlenieks took the loss, collecting 18 saves while Todd Scott made four saves in relief.

The best of five series stands even at one game apiece as the series shifts to Chicago. Games three and four will be Friday and Saturday, respectively, at the Fox Valley Ice Arena.
