The Musketeers finished up their third double header weekend of the year this past Saturday against the Green Bay Gamblers in a wild couple of games.

The Musketeers started off the weekend on Friday with a 0-4 shutout loss to the Gamblers as Green Bay started off the scoring and kept scoring in the 2nd period with 3 goals on Ethan Haider after an outstanding couple of saves and a 0-0 first. The 3rd period was another great defensive push by the Musketeers, but they still couldn’t find the back of the net as Green Bay was able to tack on 1 more. Another notable stat, Aiden Harper played his first minutes of the season in net as he entered the game to start the 3rd and finish out the game.

The Musketeers then headed into Saturday for Green Bay’s Military Appreciation Night after a tough 0-4 loss the night before, but they were not about to let that happen again. Kirklan Irey started off the scoring for the Musketeers with his first goal on the year at 12:46 in the 1st period. Followed by Sam Antenucci’s 3rd goal of the year late in the 1st at 18:35 to give the Musketeers a 2-0 lead heading into the locker room. It took a while, but at 15:12 in the 2nd period, Green Bay cut Sioux City’s lead down to 1 before Joel Maatta scored his 5th goal on the year at 19:44 in the 2nd to put the lead back to 2 heading into the final period. Sioux City finished it off with Josh Nixon and his 2nd goal on the year at 12:35 in the 3rd, but no scoring would happen after that as the Musketeers took the win 4-1. The Musketeers now sit 5-5 on the year, and 5th in the Western Conference after this past weekend in a tie at 10 points with the Omaha Lancers.

The Musketeers are back home at the Tyson Events Center on Saturday, November 9th for Military Appreciation Night at 7:05pm, and Sunday, November 10th at 3:05pm for Rock the Rink Night.
