For the second time in three weeks, Sioux City Musketeers netminder Akira Schmid has been named United States Goaltender of the Week.

The Bern, Switzerland, native powered the Sioux City Musketeers to a pair of victories against first-place Fargo over the weekend. Schmid stopped 64 of 68 shots he faced, which included a career-high 42-save effort on Saturday. The New Jersey Devils draftee (2018, #136 overall) currently owns the league’s best save percentage (.909%) and the second-best goals against average (2.36).

Schmid and the Musketeers return to action Friday, March 26, with a road contest at Sioux Falls.
