MUSKETEERS ACQUIRE DEFENSEMAN IN TRADE WITH GREEN BAY

Sioux City, Iowa – The Sioux City Musketeers have acquired defenseman Anthony Walsh in a trade with Green Bay that sent forward Sam Saliba and defenseman Matt Berkovitz to the Gamblers along with a first round pick in Phase One of the 2015 USHL Draft..

Walsh, who has played parts of 4 seasons with the Gamblers, has 5 goals and 7 assists in 89 games played, and is a +4 overall.  Last season, the Yale University commit put up 2 goals and 4 assists and was a +15 in 40 games played.  He has 2 goals and 3 assists this season in 35 games played this season in Green Bay.

Saliba is in his second USHL season, and has 11 goals to go with 15 assists in 67 games played for Sioux City. In his last game, he had a goal and was a +3 on the ice.  Berkovitz, who is committed to play collegiately at the University of Wisconsin in the newly formed Big10 conference, had no points in 20 games played and was a -1. The first year defenseman was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the 5th round (123rd overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft.

The Musketeers return to action this weekend when they visit Fargo on Friday night, and host Chicago at the Tyson Events Center on Saturday night.  Both games are slated to start at 7:05pm.
