GREEN BAY, WI—The Musketeers will go on the road for their third regular season game of the year on Friday, October 5th at 7:05 PM against the Green Bay Gamblers. The Gamblers lost both their regular season games against the Musketeers in the 2017-18 season. Both games had a score of 4-2 and were played at the Tyson Events Center. The Musketeers are now in Green Bay for the second matchup of the 2018-19 season, after the Musketeers took down the Gamblers in both teams’ first game of the year at the 2018 DICKS’s Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic by a final score of 5-3. Both teams left Pittsburgh going 1-1, after the Musketeers fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday night and the Gamblers picked up a win against the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
In their first meeting, the Musketeers managed to get on the board just 30 seconds into the game. While Green Bay will no doubt look to slow the Musketeers out the gate, that won't be their biggest priority. The Gamblers biggest challenge in this game will be trying to slow down the Musketeers top line that combined for eight total points in their first meeting. Marcus Kallionkieli had two goals, Bobby Brink had a goal and an assist, and Martin Pospisil added three assists in the victory.
One area both teams will look to clean up is on the penalty sheet. Sioux City took four penalties in the first meeting between the two teams and allowed one goal on the PK. The Gamblers took five penalties in the game, but Sioux City was unable to convert on any of their powerplay chances.
This will be the third game of five straight on the road for the Musketeers, but with only one game this weekend look for the Musketeers to come out firing once again.
